Right now I am in Stony Point, NY at the Stony Point Presbyterian Conference Center for YAV orientation. I have been here for a week now and oh has it been a crazy, long, informing, friendship making week! Throughout this week we have been made aware of what we may encounter in our next year. We have made new friends and caught up with old friends. This week has been full of laughter and worry. This week has been full of rain as well. After this week I have been filled with tons of information that I will take with me to Kenya.
As the week comes to a close I begin to think about the one thing that stood out to me the most and that I will take with me throughout the year. I have been thinking about everything that I will miss or that I will be worrying about and during the week we have been reassured that we have nothing to worry about. Yesterday we read the passage Matthew 6:25-34. This passage will stay with me throughout the year to help me remember that I have no worries because God is with me all the time.
My flight leaves tomorrow(Monday) afternoon at 3:10pm. I will be leaving the US at 6pm an my way to Zurich then on my way to Nairobi arriving there around 6pm Nairobi time. (so around 11am EST) Please keep me in your prayers as I fly almost half way across the world. I don't know when I will be able to post again but I will be in touch as soon as possible!
