I finally am able to get on the internet for a little bit! YAY! Well this will be a quick update. Since my last blog a lot has changed with my job placement. Across was not responding quickly to my site coordinator so she decided that I could be used somewhere else that will use my talents in a better fashion. I will now be working at a Lutheran Church in Nairobi as a teacher at the school as well as working with the youth at the church. Once I know a little bit more about what I will be doing I will post again. I am looking forward to teaching and working with the youth and hope to start there soon! I meet with Sam the coordinator at the church tomorrow and will hopefully know a little more about what I will be doing.
The past couple days, since I have been waiting to start working, I have been helping out at a school called African Pride in one of the informal settlements in Nairobi. The school is a preschool with kids as young as 2 years old and as old as 6 years old. They are so smart and their hand writing is beautiful! They are going to do great when they move into primary school! They all have tons of energy so after a day with them I was exhausted! I took some pictures and will post them soon!
