Yay it's Thursday which means it's my Friday!! Community time with the housemates and Danielle in the morning and then going camping!! I will post pictures from the trip :)

Ok so I am going to try to give this whole writing something on blog everyday another try! So I am starting afresh after a trying day at work with finding out something crazy and the kids acting like themselves! Yay! Well until tomorrow! :)

We Bought a Zoo!

Today was a great day! It was community day so we didn't have to work like always and today for community day we went to...drum roll please...

Frustration semi-fixed with funny pictures!

My day at work today was pretty frustrating but I am not going to talk about instead I am going to post some funny pictures I found on the internets! Enjoy! :)

Day 1 of New Blog Goal!

Ok so I am not posting at the time that I said that I was going to, but I was watching Mythbusters at the time and got distracted! haha

Ok Let's think about today... well it was like any other day but my kids were relatively good today!!! :) It was nice seeing my middle schoolers act like middle schoolers (well mature middle schoolers). So I can't remember if I have written on my blog about this but my job at the after school program has kinda changed from me working with the younger kids to working with the dreaded middle school and high school kids!!!
But so far I really like it and most of them know that I won't take any crap from them... now. Most of the kids are respecting me know and I am seeing a difference in the kids from just coming to the program. One of the kids is very much my trouble child and he likes to think that he is all that a a bag of potato chips haha. I can remember one of the first days I met and how he insisted that he didn't know any English! And now he hangs out by the gate where the kids leave and where I hang out so kids won't leave without signing out, just talking with me! haha It is crazy how much of an effect the program has on these kids. This is especially noticable when I haven't seen a kid in a while and then they decide to show up on Monday and their behavior is way out of line, but then today their behavior is great!

I am excited that I am seeing that the program and even I am having an effect on the kids that show up. I can't wait to see what happens in the future! Tomorrow in my blog I will tell everyone a secret about what I am going to be doing after this YAV year is up!! Until tomorrow! Have a great night!

To Infinity and Beyond!

I have decided to change up the atmosphere of my blog, well at least try to change it up. This attempt is to hopefully get my to blog more often in order for me to not forget had happened on some crazy trip to somewhere or doing something crazy awesome! J So what I am going to attempt is to post a blog everyday! I know it sounds crazy!!! But I am going to try to post either a picture, a picture with a story, a story, a quote, a song, a word, etc. Anything I think of that day I will get home and write about it during the boring time after I get home and before I am either making dinner or eating dinner. So with all of my loyal blog readers as witnesses I have now pledged to write something on my blog everyday from this day out!

One Month in...

So I have now officially been in San Antonio for a month now (well technically Saturday would have been my month anniversary but its just a technicality)!! So since I have been here for a month now and have neglected in writing a blog to tell everyone about everything that is going on here, I must write one now to both celebrate the anniversary and do some making up in the blog department!

Well...the wait is finally over! I have now been back in the states for just about a month now.  I have definitely had my share of culture shock, but I think I have been doing well since I have been back in the states. For the most part I have been feeling really bored since I did not have a lot to do and since most things here in Florida cost money...which my money supply was depleting very fast since everything is so much more expensive here then in Kenya!!

Finding My Way

            As I look back to the beginning of my YAV year to this point of time I have determined that I have grown a lot as a person and I have learned so many new things as well. I grown personally and I have grown in my faith with God. I have learned how to think of myself (not to sound selfish) and how to really listen to what God is telling me. Because of everything that I have been growing in and from really listening to God I have been able to see that Kenya at this point in my life is not where I am suppose to be.
